You don't say how close transmission lines are to the proposed plant. New transmission towers marching across the desert (and the new roads to build and maintain them) are the real blight - not the plant itself.

Sorry for the huge review, but I'm really loving the new Zune, and hope this, as well as the excellent reviews some other people have written, will help you decide if it's the right choice for you.

I too experienced the same treatment when I snapped what I thought would be a good photo album "memory" crossing from Algodones into CA. I'll never do that again.

We recently went to Algadones and coming back I was first in line of our group, I stepped across the threshold of the building where the US Agent was. She made a big deal about me staying back where she thought I belonged. Do not step foot in the US unless the idot govt. employee motions you to proceed!!!!!!!!!!!!I too appreciate the US and am so worried about where the government is taking us.

Many full-timers do not have a "house" address and will not receive a Census form through the mail. I called the Census "help line" and the man who took my call sent me a census form to my mailing address - a UPS store. The number is 866 872 6868.

I LOVE going to “Algadones”, every time is a new adventure. Keep your mind open, be willing to dicker with the locals. A great buy is just around the corner. They have the most beautiful art work, metal work, great haircuts, maicures and pedicures. Take time to look in the shops, not just passing them by. I also keep a handful of pennies for the local children, everyone has a right to make a living. Be mindful of your travelling manners, smile and say please and thank you.

Sure the meds are cheap, but I am Canadian and get mine on a plan so that is not the draw for me.

One warning though, when you buy something and they say it is leather, find out what kind of "leather" skunk has a pelt, and my last purse.......well all I can say, is it is gone, far, far away.

Pizza, not only do we have a "pizza restaurant firmly attached to the ground", we have one of the best pizza restaurants in the western US. Silly Al's is the place to go for pizza and almost anything else you want to eat. The place is always busy, parties, good friends just gettin together, Silly Al's is the place to go.

As a matter of fact, if you live where the snow flies and are looking for a neat place to go for a few months, Quartzsite is the place to be. When a town can draw a crowd of over 1.5 million people there must be something wonderful there. If you are into rocks, any type of rock, polished, rough, still in the ground and even the metaphysical properties of the rock, it is there. There is a feeling as you drive closer to Quartzsite, a warm comfortable glow that seems to overtake your senses, it is sort of a zen type feeling. if your destination is somewhere else, you probably don't feel it, however, if you slow down enough for it to soak in, you get relaxed and you feel like you have arrived. I know it sounds weird, but I know for a fact that my blood pressure actually drops when I get closer to Quartzsite.

There are many things to do in Q, (Quartzsite), don't drive by next time, stop, stay awhile, talk to the people, don't just stand in line and wonder. We are not all old retired people, and we come from all over the world, to spend time in Quartzsite. A wonderful town, with wonderful people.

PS, I come from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and have been coming for ten years and hope to come for a lot more. Fact is now my friends and acquaintances are moving in for the winters also. We love it here and hope to stay as long as we possibly can.

Quartzsite is one of the best finds I have ever made. A wonderful, friendly community, the powers that be need to learn "if it ain' t broke, don't fix it". RVers spend a big wad of cash every year in Q. Just ask the local restaurants, and full time businesses. Q needs the RVers, you can't build enough high price condos to meet the money brought into the town in four or five months by the RVers.
