Speed Cams Can Catch Up

“Be careful on I-10 to Phoenix from Quartzsite as they now have speed cameras on the freeway. They take your pick and send you a ticket for speeding.”
The warning is certainly valid, as thousands have found out over the last several months. “Stationary” post-mounted speed cameras are indeed “up and running” in the Phoenix metro area, and the state has also added vehicle mounted speed-cams in all areas of the state. It’s caused a lot of flack, and some state legislators are mounting bills to kill the traffic cameras. But if and until they’re gone, those who get nailed by the speed cameras could expect a ticket for almost $200 if caught going as little as 11 miles per hour over the posted limit.
