Quartzsite Improvement Association anchor dies
Posted December 2nd 2009 by Russ and TiƱa De Maris
If you’ve ever visited the QIA (Quartzsite Improvement Association), you’ve probably met Anne Ingebrigtsen.
At 94 years young, Anne was every bit of a sparkle-eyed hostess of anyone three times younger. Turn up for the Wednesday night pancake supper, you could be sure Anne would be sitting near the doorway in the dining room, waiting to make you feel at home. Didn’t matter if you’d been to the QIA a hundred times, or if this was your very first visit.
Anne died November 17. The loss will be felt in Quartzsite by all that new her, all that saw her and were impressed with her seemingly endless vivacity. Her friends will have a “Celebration of her life,” this Saturday at 2:30 pm–and nowhere but the QIA would seem appropriate.
